    Retoucher

    About You

    • You're a retoucher who actually enjoys the detail. You notice the dust on the bottle, the colour cast on the linen, the edge that's not quite clean, and you fix it before anyone else has to point it out. You work fast because the deadlines are real, but you don't let speed cost you accuracy.
    • You've got a couple of years behind you and a portfolio that shows it: clean finishes, natural results, nothing over-processed. You know your way around Photoshop and you're comfortable in a RAW processor, or willing to learn ours properly. You keep your files tidy, your naming accurate and your backups current, because in a studio that ships every day, organisation isn't admin, it's the job.
    • You're honest when something's off, you ask when you're unsure, and you take feedback without taking it personally. You like working closely with a small team, and you're happy to grow as the studio does.

    Responsibilities:
    Image import and processing

    • Import RAW image files from the studio into dated Capture One sessions.
    • Review, filter and curate galleries to select the strongest shots for retouching.
    • Apply colour correction, exposure adjustments and cropping to studio standards in Capture One.
    • Convert RAW files to JPEG at correct format, quality, resolution and dimensions for upload.

    Retouching

    • Clean up products and foregrounds: remove dust, scratches, fingerprints, smudges and background distractions.
    • Retouch by category to studio standards: apparel, linen, liquor, jewellery, lifestyle product and more.
    • Light skin retouching on model and close-up shots where required.
    • Keep retouching natural. The work should look clean, not plastic or over-processed.

    Handover and admin

    • Upload finished images to Google Drive under the correct division and brand folder, using studio naming conventions.
    • Share folder links with the Retoucher and Studio Manager for review, and apply revert feedback promptly.
    • Perform weekly backups of RAW and working files.
    • Keep your pipeline updated in Asana, log progress accurately, and stay in sync with the team on Google Chat.
    • Update the studio forecast and image counts daily.

    Communication and team

    • Liaise with the Retoucher about work handovers, priorities and feedback.
    • Flag any issues, missing files, unclear briefs or technical problems early.
    • Ask questions. The team would rather you ask than guess.

    Experience and Qualifications

    • 2–4 years' experience in retouching, photo editing, or a closely related role.
    • Formal training or a relevant qualification in photography, design, digital imaging, or a related field is advantageous.
    • A portfolio of retouched work that demonstrates attention to detail, clean finishes, and a natural editing style.
    • Strong working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, including selections, masking, clone and patch tools, Liquify, and Gaussian Blur.
    • Familiarity with Capture One or another RAW processor, with a willingness to learn our workflow.
    • A good eye for colour, exposure, and detail.
    • Comfortable using Adobe Bridge, Google Workspace, and Google Drive. Experience with Asana is an advantage.
    • Strong organisational skills, including maintaining clean file structures, accurate file naming, and reliable backups.
    • Detail-oriented, with a focus on producing polished, high-quality work.
    • Able to work efficiently under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, 24-hour production environment.
    • A clear and honest communicator who asks questions when needed and works collaboratively within a small creative team.
    • Reliable, accountable, and committed to meeting deadlines.
    • Curious, adaptable, and receptive to feedback, with a willingness to continuously learn and improve.

    Values

    • Challenge Accepted: We create bold campaigns, own our results, and push creative boundaries to make an impact.
    • Solve Smart: We use insights, data, and innovation to solve marketing challenges creatively and effectively.
    • Character Counts: We communicate honestly, ethically, and with creativity, building trust with customers and colleagues.
    • Customer Obsessed: We deeply understand our audience, delivering content and campaigns that resonate and drive action.
    • Seriously Unserious: We bring enthusiasm, wit, and fun to our campaigns and teamwork, while staying results-focused.
