Senior Specialist: Solutions Architect at Vodacom

The role of the Solutions Architect will be responsible for designing and leading the implementation of a solutions and capability architecture for a particular business capability / user journey, according to the overall digital vision and target architecture of the Contact Centre Systems technologies in an Agile environment. Responsibilities include the technical analysis and holistic solution design of future capabilities and features, including external dependencies, cross-domain APIs, and technical enablers / stories as well as ensuring compliance to the secure design principles. Responsible for reviewing the target architecture vision and roadmap, evaluating and prioritizing roadmap items, and translating them into design and non-functional requirements. Providing support to software developers to ensure development of technical stories aligns to defined architecture paradigms, principles, and patterns.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• High-level architecture and technical strategy for Contact Centre Systems Design and Delivery
• Technical enablers, integration APIs, and detailed technical and operational story design
• Business capability / customer journey architecture governance in agile software delivery
• Apply technology and innovation with a specific focus on modern software development practices and technologies, including Agile, DevOps, and Cloud, Containers, CSM compliant APIs and micro services.
• Evaluate innovative technologies aligned with the business strategy.
• Decide on the technology tools in line with the company standards.
• Provide oversight to investigation, analysis and management of technology risks, issues, and dependencies in all programs/projects
• Conduct periodic reviews with vendors on SLA's, performance metrics and issues, escalations, change requests and improvement plans.
• Collaborate with partners to overcome issues that affect service delivery and execute operational improvement initiatives.
• Encourage best practice and knowledge sharing with relevant stakeholder, partners and cross-functional groups
• Manage the overall technical design and delivery of solutions
• Participate in high level technical solution definition and design during the implementation phase with the goal of providing reliable, stable and operationally sound applications that meet the Business requirements

The Ideal Candidate For This Role Will Have

• Matric/ Grade 12 essential
• 3 year degree/diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field
• 5 or more years relevant experience in at least three disciplines, such as business, information, solution or technical architecture, application development, middleware, information analysis, database management or operations in a multitier environment
• Extensive exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments
• Extensive experience in business capability modelling and technical and solution architecture development in a digital business context

Experience

• working with agile methodologies, such as Scrum, Kanban, XP, TDD, and BDD
