Senior Technical Project Manager at Deimos

Role Overview

• We are looking for an experienced senior level client facing Technical Project Manager to join our team in Cape Town, managing multiple projects in the Software, Developer and Security Operations space. Our clients rely on our technical expertise and ability to deliver value. As a Project Manager you will play an instrumental role in realising this value. 

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple small to large scale technical projects, alongside the Technical Lead, from proposal to discovery and delivery.
• Plan, manage and drive project delivery, ensuring projects remain within scope, timeline and budget.
• Ensure projects are properly resourced, communicating resource requirements in a timely manner. 
• Schedule and facilitate all project meetings and Scrum ceremonies. 
• Participate in scoping sessions, and prioritise delivery with clients.
• Work closely with the Technical Lead to create and maintain the product backlog, ensuring milestones are planned and features broken down into individual user stories. 
• Facilitate and gather effort estimates from the team to produce cost estimates and timelines.
• Ensure that the relevant engineering team always has an adequate amount of groomed work that meets our Definition of Ready.
• Facilitate communication between the Client and Deimos to resolve any dependencies and impediments.
• Identify and manage risks and ensure any concerns are escalated to appropriate channels.
• Establish, gather, analyse and report on key KPIs to measure the overall success of the project delivery, as well as the team’s velocity and effectiveness.
• Contribute to the Project Management processes and improvements within Deimos.

Role Requirements

• Formal qualification or certification in Project Management / Scrum Master / Product Ownership advantageous.
• 6+ years experience in Project Management with a good understanding of SDLC and DevSecOps workflow. 
• Thorough understanding and experience in Scrum and Agile delivery. 
• Experience in remote working (managing remote teams and clients, working asynchronously).
• Ability to manage several projects concurrently, across multiple teams.
• Ability to take ownership of projects and act with high levels of accountability and initiative.
• Ability to work autonomously and be an independent contributor to the team.
• Exceptional organisational, time-management and multi-tasking skills.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills, applying analytical and creative thinking.
• Accurate reporting and proven risk identification and resolution abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. 
• Strong social skills and ability to effectively build, grow and manage client relationships.
