Senior Trade Hand (Track Welding) at PRASA

DEPARTMENTAL MISSION

• To maintain track welding services to ensure high quality structural and geometric Perway conditions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 10 with Maths
• 3 years’ experience as a trainee track welder
• Code 10 Driver’s license and PDP (Public Driver’s Permit)

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (KPAs)

• Perform welding activities
• Staff supervision and Safety

TRAINING & KNOWLEDGE 

• Track Welding (Track welder Phase 1&2) / Track Maintenance processes and procedures
• Relevant legislation including OHSE Act, RSR Act, etc.
• Financial management principles and practice, contract administration, quality management policies and frameworks
• MS office
• Non-destructive testing procedures
• (Radiographic testing of Exothermic welds, Ultra-sonic testing of rails, Dye penetrant, Magnetic particle testing)
