    Senior Treasury Business Partner

    The Purpose:

    ABB is world leader in pioneer technology offering a wide range of products and services. This position forms part of the backbone and support services center named GBS (Global Business Services). GBS provides services across main areas of Human Resources, Supply Chain Management, Finance and Information Technology. GBS support ABB business’ Globally from main hubs in Asia, Europe and America. This position is part of the local GBS Front office operation in the South Africa.
    You will be working as a Senior Treasury Business Partner and will be the part of Global Business Services for Treasury business line based in Modderfontein, South Africa. In this role you will be reporting to Region/Country Treasury Manager and will be responsible for supporting our treasury activities in Africa (excluding Egypt and Francophone countries).


    Your Responsibilities

    • Directing coverage to include South Africa and African countries excluding Egypt and Francophone countries (where support is expected).
    • Representing treasury function within the local organization (Business and Corporate Functions). Becoming first point of contact for all Treasury matters in countries.
    • Acting as an advisor to the business on the full range of treasury activities, with the support of the CoEs (e.g.; business risk reviews. FX hedging strategies, trade risk mitigation etc.).
    • Identifying treasury needs in the countries and deliver or coordinate solutions in cooperation with regional and global CoEs.
    • Managing relationship with local financial Institutions, external consulting agencies etc. Providing local support for M&A activities, capital structure reviews etc.
    • Advising and supporting on bank accounts management in countries. Support payment process and infrastructure. Managing the short-term liquidity of ABB entities in countries. Providing medium term liquidity planning (dividends, financing, equity).
    • Supporting FX exposure tracking and monitoring. Assisting in the mitigation of FX risk in pricing. Providing advisory support in the adoption of appropriate hedging strategies.
    • Assisting in credit risk mitigation. Identifying and executing of customer financing solutions supporting sales under guidance of regional customer ginance advisors.
    • Supporting regional CoE in implementation of global and local insurance policies, risk management practices etc. Acting as liaison for local brokers, claims under local policies etc.
    • Identifying, monitoring and reporting relevant treasury KPIs and ensuring implementation and adherence to treasury’s corporate regulations as well as Internal controls over financial reporting.

    Your background

    • A bachelor’s degree in BA or BS in Finance or Accounting. Master’s in finance or CA (SA) or CFA will be an added advantage.
    • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in corporate treasury or finance environment familiarity with business controlling and accounting with at least 3 years in a senior position with oversight responsibilities.
    • Sound knowledge of Treasury domains; Eg financial markets, cash management, derivatives, capital structures, export and trade finance, insurance etc.
    • Required good experience in process improvements in finance function.
    • Required excellent communication skills - both written and oral.
    • Strong team player with good problem-solving skills, approaching issues with open mind and track record OR persistent to deliver on time.
    • Ability to establish rapport and effective working relationships with personnel at all organizational levels.
