Minimum Requirements    

• MSc or BSc (Agric) Animal Science with relevant experience.
• Compliance with Act 27 of 2003 (Natural Scientific Professions Act).
• 3 years of experience in animal nutrition.
• Attention to detail, leadership, and decision-making skills.
• Analytical ability, computer literacy, and self-motivation.
• Excellent people skills.

Duties and Responsibilities    
On-site Quality Control:

• Manage raw material quality control on-site, including sampling and testing.
• Conduct standard analyses on incoming raw materials.
• Oversee final feed quality control on-site, ensuring representative sampling and testing.
• Conduct analyses on in-process raw materials and final feed.

ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 Compliance:

• Develop and implement ISO 9001 and 22000 standards at mill level.
• Act as a Feed Safety and Quality member on-site, guiding the team to compliance.

Legal Compliance:

• Drive Act 36 and Act 101 legal compliance.
• Ensure veterinary export compliance.

Quality Team Member:

• Manage and motivate the Quality Team, ensuring compliance with safety requirements.
• Ensure complete traceability of all processes followed.

Sales Team Support and Customer Care:

• Provide continuous technical advice and support to customers.
• Evaluate product performance and address customer complaints promptly.

Risk Control:

• Support teams in bio-security compliance and Salmonella monitoring.
• Report on monthly results and investigate risks.

Training and Development:

• Participate in Study Groups and train feed mill personnel.
• Engage in research and product development.

Job Advert Summary    

• We are seeking an experienced Code 14 Driver to safely transport stock, ensure timely deliveries, conduct daily vehicle inspections and maintain accurate delivery documentation. Applicants must have Matric, a valid unendorsed Code 14 licence and PrDP.

Minimum Requirements    

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Minimum four (4) years’ Code 14 driving experience in a similar role (2–3 years preferred)
• Valid, unendorsed Code 14 driver’s licence
• Valid, unendorsed PrDP.
• Clear criminal record
• Sober habits
• Able to read, write and speak English.
• Able to work extended hours, weekends, shifts and flexi-hours, and to sleep out when required.
• Reliable transportation to work and mobile phone
• Able to cope with the physical demands of the job: long hours of driving or sitting, a cold environment, and general physical effort.
• Road safety awareness and knowledge of road rules
• Mechanical knowledge (advantage)
• Alertness and spatial awareness
• Time management skills
• Effective communication and customer service skills

Duties and Responsibilities    

• Safely operate a Code 14 ultra heavy vehicle (UD Truck tractor and trailer, 27 ton) to collect and deliver company stock between the Distribution Centre, customers, and processing plants.
• Ensure loads are secured, routes are followed and delivery schedules are met.
• Assist with loading and off-loading of trucks as and when required.
• Complete a daily vehicle inspection and report any defects immediately.
• Ensure the truck is maintained as per company requirements, including cleaning the truck and the fridge before loading.
• Ensure proof of deliveries (PODs), slips and other documents and forms are completed correctly, on time and handed in as required.
• Handle customer interactions courteously and report any problems or deviations to management immediately.
• Comply with company policies and procedures, Health & Safety and Food Safety requirements and standards, traffic laws and regulations, and use the tracking system as required.
• Report any traffic fines received to management and take responsibility for any traffic fines incurred.
• General duties as per operational requirements.
