    Senior Vendor Analyst

    Maersk is looking for an innovative and driven candidate to take up the new and exciting role of Senior Vendor Analyst.

    As a Vendor Analyst, you would be responsible to oversee the full Requisition to Pay process from efficient and accurate Purchase Order creation to timely Payment execution ensuring customer/vendor satisfaction; Responsibility extends to listed vendors under your scope within the Southern Africa and Islands Area; Drive and support close interaction and knowledge with key stakeholders (Customer Execution, Finance, Ocean Customer Logistics (Equipment and Finance teams) and Global Service Centers); To monitor all tasks off shored to the Global Service Centers and ensure accuracy, timeliness and completeness; Drive on-going analysis and improvement of Requisition to Pay processes.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Direct responsibility for Cost control and Payables for all Liner costs (Trucking & Depots)
    • Ensure accurate Vendor master data updated SAP. Master data to always reflect what has been agreed with Vendors (payment terms and billing data)
    • Ensure invoice receipt and efficient scanning is in accordance with Global SOP and promotes first time 3-way match
    • Ensure timely and accurate attention to all workflows to enable quick resolution and timely payment – resolve disputes
    • Regular review of blocked invoices and clearing in line with authority
    • Timely and accurate payments to suppliers as per agreed payment terms
    • Ensure Principal Vendor Reconciliations are prepared, reviewed, and signed off (as proof of review) on a quarterly basis (done by the Global Service Centers). All reconciliation items to be resolved to ensure reconciling items remain current, dependent on statement level.
    • Provide regular reports reflecting status of Vendor accounts to Customer Execution Management. Keep Management abreast with developments
    • Ensure that book-close is managed in accordance with the Lines requirements.
    • Ensure that all Invoices comply with local VAT regulations.
    • Monitor and manage the tasks off shored to the Global Service Centers to ensure timely and accurate execution.
    • Participate in regular review sessions with Global Service Centers with view to improve cluster performance.
    • Maintain a partnership relationship with Global Service Centers.
    • Ensure financial control standards are effectively communicated to Customer Execution teams.  Address Customer Execution teams where action is required.
    • Vendor onboarding of finance process to be followed.

    Who we are looking for:
