Server Engineer at Datacentrix

• Managed Talent Solutions is looking for a Server Engineer with strong Hyper-V experience on a 6 months' contract for an external mining client in Cape Town. You will form part of a team of infrastructure engineers that overlook and provide critical (L3 and L4) support to data centres across the African region.

Minimum Requirements

• Hyper-V - 5 to 10 Years experience (VMWare experience with understanding of Hyper V could be considered)
• Enterprise size Hyper-V Failover cluster experience – 5 + years Beneficial
• Fiber channel Storage, Server, and zoning experience – 2 to 4 years
• Enterprise Storage/SAN management – 2 to 5 years
• Enterprise size backup solution experience – 2 to 4 years
• Microsoft server (virtual/physical) manage and troubleshooting – 5 to 10 years
• A minimum of 5 years' experience managing high availability systems
• Broad generalist knowledge of current, certified Information Technology standards, operating systems, and implications of emerging technology trends.
• Broad understanding of IT operational related technologies such as virtualisation, storage and backups.
• Database and Converged Architecture experience advantageous.
• Knowledge of in Cloud Technologies (Azure) would be advantageous.
• Understanding of ITIL processes.

Advantageous requirements

• Microsoft SCCM (System center configuration manager) – 1 to 2 years
• On Prem Exchange – 2 to 5 years
• File Services (SMB share/Microsoft DFS) – 2 to 4 years
