We are seeking a SHE Officer to ensure full compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, compliant, and hazard-free workplace.
This is a hands-on role for a safety professional committed to operational excellence. Cape Town-based candidates will be given preference.
Minimum Requirements:
Matric or NQF Level 4 equivalent
Health & Safety qualification (essential)
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a SHE role
Pharma or FMCG experience with GMP exposure
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct routine safety checks and risk assessments
Ensure compliance with OHS Act and all safety legislation
Investigate incidents, manage IOD reporting and COID claims
Maintain the H&S management system and audit compliance
Manage PPE, emergency procedures, waste streams and HSE permits
Chair safety meetings and present toolbox talks and induction training
Oversee contractor safety, HIRA processes, and monthly safety statistics
Liaise with HR on training and regulatory requirements
