SHEQ Manager - Umbogintwini at AECI Limited

Job Description    

• Management of the Safety department for AECI Mining Chemicals Surfactant business
• Implement, Maintain and Auditing of the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Management systems.
• Ensure AECI Mining Chemicals Surfactant sites comply with Safety and Health legislative requirements.
• Co-ordinate incident / accident investigations, near misses and follow up.
• Manage medical surveillance program and record keeping for all sites under Surfactants
• Implementation of AECI Group SHE standards and requirements as per AECI SHEQ framework
• Update and maintain all SHEQ tracking systems
• Plan, conduct and management reporting on internal and external audits.
• Manage the SHEQ risk assessment process.
• Manage and maintain an emergency preparedness plan.
• Maintain the Internal SHEQ Training program.
• Compile and Control budgets in the AECI Mining Chemicals Surfactant SHEQ Department.
• Ensure effective management and development of subordinate.
• Work effectively with others as a member of a team.
• Maintain procedures to control the Permit to Work and Lock out System
• Ensure an Effective Induction Program is set up for employees and contractors
• Comply with MHI legislative requirements
• Safety Management of contractors

Qualifications & Experience    

• Matric with Maths and Science.
• Must have relevant SHEQ qualifications eg. Dip / Deg SHE Management / Auditing SHEQ Management Systems / SHEQ Legislation
• 6 to 8 years’ experience in a chemical industry plant environment, preferably production related.
• 6 to 8 years’ SHEQ Management experience.
• Experience in implementing and applying ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001.
• Excellent knowledge of SHE legislation and best practice.
• Excellent investigation capability and report writing and presentation skills.
• Good knowledge of strategic planning.
• Organizational and implementation skills.
