Shift Supervisor - Components (Pinelands) at Western Cape Blood Service

 Main Purpose:

Supervises a team of staff, co-ordinating the processing of the whole blood into various blood products required for patients’ blood component therapy. Maintains a competent team and meets processing requirements of time constraints and quality according to procedures and blood transfusion standards. Trains and mentors’ new incumbents and interns.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12
• Medical Technician Certificate (Blood Transfusion) or Lab Assistant Qualification with
• 3 years’ experience in Processing
• Registration with HPCSA
• Computer literate
• Drivers licence would be advantageous
• The working hours are variable, shift work is required with weekend work if needed..

• Have a friendly disposition and show keen interest in the work. 
• A willingness to work as part of a team is essential
• Proven leadership skills
