Shift Supervisor - First Line Processing (Pinelands) at Western Cape Blood Service

Main Purpose:

Supervises and co-ordinates team to prepare untested blood for processing. Labels tested blood and blood products and the safe discard of unsuitable units. Trains and mentors’ new incumbents and interns.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12
• Medical Technician Certificate (Blood Transfusion) OR
• Lab Assistant Qualification with 3 years’ experience in processing
• Registration with HPCSA
• Computer literate
• Drivers licence would be advantageous
• The working hours are variable, shift work is required with weekend work if needed.

• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Have a friendly disposition and show keen interest in the work. 
• A willingness to work as part of a team is essential
• Proven leadership skills
