A Shift Technician is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment and systems during an assigned shift to ensure continuous and safe operations. They play a critical role in minimizing downtime, optimizing equipment performance, and supporting production or operational targets.
Monitor plant, machinery, and equipment performance during the shift.
Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
Diagnose faults and perform repairs on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, or automated systems.
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and operational issues.
Conduct routine inspections and record maintenance activities.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Assist with equipment start-ups, shutdowns, and changeovers.
Liaise with production and operations teams to minimize disruptions.
Maintain accurate maintenance logs and shift reports.
Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency and reliability.
Diploma, Trade Certificate, or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering.
Relevant experience in a manufacturing, production, utilities, facilities, or industrial environment.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
Knowledge of safety regulations and maintenance best practices.
Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required.
