Small Plant Operator at eThekwini Municipality

Job Purpose    

• To perform tasks and activities associated with construction,general maintenance and repair work to electrical infrastructure.

Key Responsibility Areas    

• Undertake general labouring tasks and operates small plant and equipment.
• Attends to the preparation of the work sites .
• Loads, coupling and de-coupling of trailers, compressors and other relevant equipment to vehicles for towing purposes.
• Checks the operating condition, connecting and starting equipment and machinery.
• Physical installation, positioning of electrical equipment and installation meters.
• Clean work sites, store equipment and tools and load materials prior to departure from work sites.
• Responsible for the care of the depot, stores equipment and tools.
• Complies with the safety standards.

Essential Requirements    

• Appropriate level of primary education
• 1 Month relevant experience.

Preferred Requirements    

• Appropriate level of secondary education.
• 3 Months relevant experience.
