    Senior Internal Auditor (Opr) (Level I)

    Job Purpose    

    • To provide an independent, objective audit assurance and consultancy service of the Municipality's Systems of Control, Policies, Procedures and Standards. 

    This post reports to SENIOR AUDIT MANAGER (OPERATIONAL AUDITING)

    Key Responsibility Areas    

    • Plan the specific audit in conformity with generally accepted auditing Standards.
    • Conduct all encompassing audits (Risk and Compliance; Value for Money; Contract Auditing;
    • Performance Management and Financial Auditing in accordance with the Cluster/Unit Audit Plan).
    • Report on Audit findings.
    • Follow up on the agreed Audit recommendations to ensure compliance.

    Management Accountant

    Job Purpose    

    • To provide an effective and efficient financial and management accounting support to aid Senior Management in the decision making process.

    Key Responsibility Areas    

    • Controls and coordinates the consolidated budget preparation of both the Operating and

    Job Purpose    

    • To coordinate and control the Department’s planning and development to the communicable
    • Diseases (Tuberculosis, sexually transmitted diseases, HIV/ AIDS act) Health care services and attending to the clinical management and primary health care and providing a consultative service to the nursing personnel at the clinic level in accordance to the requirements of the unit.

    Supervisor Driver (Crane Operator)

    Job Purpose    

    • To drive various vehicles to transport staff, materials and equipment from and to site and assist with all Electrical Maintenance and Construction activities and functions as required.

    Key Responsibility Areas    

    • Perform specific activities at the Depot or work sites prior to and on completion of allocated Electricity related assignments.

    Switching Officer

    Job Purpose    

    • To carry out switching operations as directed.
    • Responsible for the operation of all equipment on the distribution system (6.6Kv and 11Kv) for eThekwini Electricity and contractors / customers.

    Key Responsibility Areas

    Clerk Of Works

    Job Purpose    

    • Coordinates inspection and monitoring sequences of construction and maintenance works by establishing details of the work programme, communicating safety and technical applications relating to the works.

    Key Responsibility Areas

    • Valid Code B or EC1 drivers license as applicable, or be able to obtain one within 6 months of the date of appointment.
    • Must be in possession of a Professional Driving Permit (PrDP) or obtain one within 6 months of the date of appointment if required.
    • Must be trained in First Aid or be trained within 6 months of the date of appointment.
    • Must be authorised in terms of Ethekwini Electricitys System Operating Regulations to operate on medium and high voltage systems up to and including or 275 kV, or be in a position to become authorised within 9 months of appointment.
    • Must pass a proficiency test set by the department to prove sufficient general knowledge of HV plant fundamentals and philosophies.
    • Minimum of 5 years as a competent Electrician in terms code of practice A/16 for the specific duties and responsibilities of the post.
    • Considerable experience in the installation and maintenance of the types of equipment associated with the HV Operations to which the particular post is related.

    Mv Network Control Officer

    Job Purpose    

    • To apply technical understanding of electricity network control and evaluate the status of electricity supply.

    Key Responsibility Areas    

    • Applies interpretative and evaluative principles and techniques to monitor the electricity supply and status and/or outgoing circuits.
    • Monitors load flow throughout the system, checking the status at critical points on the electrical network.
    • Reacts to systems alarm signals, applying technical understanding to address deviations or malfunctions through assessment of the situation.
    • Maintains safety levels and continuity of supply during technical and operational works on the electrical system.
    • Monitors and makes determinations relating to the electricity flow based on indicators of operating conditions and safety.

    Job Purpose    

    • To perform tasks and activities associated with construction,general maintenance and repair work to electrical infrastructure.

    • Undertake general labouring tasks and operates small plant and equipment.

    Job Purpose    

    • To perform the overall administrative and clerical duties for the Licensing, Vehicle Test and Fines Processing Department within the Durban Metropolitan Police Services Unit.
