Senior Manager (Policy) at eThekwini Municipality

Job Purpose    

• To provide strategic direction on policy and administration of the Unit.

Key Responsibility Areas    

• Assumes responsibility for the overall management of policy development processes.
• Assumes responsibility for the overall management and consultation of stakeholders in policy development processes.
• Co-ordination of policy and projects (alignment of projects to policy).
• Formulates strategies for the effective management of policy and administration in consultation with the Head.
• Implements the strategy, ensuring all functions in the policy and administration are appropriately grouped, allocating resources to the various divisions, defining areas of responsibility and resolving conflicts.
• Monitors and reviews performance.
• Assumes responsibility for the overall management of policy and administration budget.
• Assumes responsibility for the overall management of an administrative system of the Unit.
• Presents progress reports to the Head.

Essential Requirements    

• Relevant tertiary qualification (NQF Level 6/7)
• 6 Years relevant experience.

Preferred Requirements    

• Relevant post graduate qualification (NQF Level 8).
• 8 Years relevant experience.
