Plan, organise, lead and control the development and execution of landfill strategies, plans and practices, ensuring compliance with Organisational policies and Local Government Acts
Research, develop, monitor and implement strategies
Research and develop alternative service delivery methods that improve effectiveness and efficiency
Promote and implement good Governance and Risk Management policies and procedures
Ensure that completed work adheres to governance in accordance with legislative, council approved policies and procedures
Develop and implement financial processes within the Division to prevent and reduce wasteful and fruitless expenditure
Oversee the preparation of monthly, annual budgets and financial reports
Ensure Landfill operations are completed in accordance with the approved budgets and plans
Promote and ensure a Customer Service orientation and satisfaction
Develop, maintain, and ensure effective people management and relations
Engage with National and Provincial departments on environmental issues
Job Requirements
BSc Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or equivalent
Direct Project experience with post closure plans, landfill operations, maintenance plans, and construction quality assurance
Project Management experience on large scale landfill construction projects
Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience in a Civil/Solid Waste or projects
