    Social Media Content Creator and Influencer Marketer

    About the job
    MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

    • To develop and curate compelling content for all African Bank’s social media platforms. Responsible for managing social media campaigns and collaborating with influencers to drive brand awareness and customer engagement. Required to work in close collaboration across cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with broader marketing initiatives and business strategic objectives.

    KEY PERFORMANCE INPUTS / ACTIVITIES: 

    Treating customers fairly and compliance

    • Create and maintain productive relationships with internal and external clients by providing advice and assistance
    • Create understanding of the ‘real’ versus ‘perceived’ need through experience and expertise while complying with company policies, legislation and regulations
    • Keep the client informed about progress through written communication, telephone communications, and/or face-to-face meetings
    • Build a positive image by exceeding client expectations at all times
    • Treat internal and external customers fairly at all times

    Diversity and Inclusion

    • Build employee ambassadorship through head office and branch network staff involvement through social media campaigns.
    • Coordinate social media competitions and ensure draws are conducted fairly and competitions are closed out as per terms & conditions
    • Identify and improve organizational development that would improve African Bank’ssocial media presence through content creation that is inclusive of African Bank staff including branch

    Events and Campaigns

    • Develop events campaign plans to support the business on social media during events
    • Analyse campaigns and translate data into recommendations and plans for revising
    • social media, content marketing and social advertising campaigns
    • Design and implement social media campaigns to promote banking products, services, and initiatives. 
    • Develop creative concepts, campaign hashtags, and messaging aligned with the bank’s brand voice. 
    • Coordinate with internal teams (marketing, compliance, product teams) to ensure campaign alignment

    Content Creation

    • Creating, scheduling, and publishing organic content across Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, YouTube and TikTok, as well as any emerging platforms that align with African Bank’s strategy
    • Track industry trends and competitor strategies to find new engagement opportunities, ensuring that African Bank remains relevant and top-of-mind within our target audiences
    • Monitor trends in social media, fintech, and banking to create relevant and timely content
    • Analyse social media performance metrics and adjust strategies accordingly

    Influencer Marketing & Partnerships

    • Identify, onboard, and collaborate with financial influencers and brand ambassadors to promote banking products and services. 
    • Build relationships with influencers to drive brand credibility and customer engagement
    • Initiate contact with influencers through personalized outreach emails or direct messages
    • Present partnership proposals outlining campaign objectives and deliverables
    • Work with influencers to co-create engaging content (videos, reels, stories, blog posts, live sessions).
    • Manage influencers and campaign performance tracking
    • Provide feedback and optimize future influencer strategies based on performance insights

    Monthly Report

    • Compile monthly report and report on analytics of content performance and room for improvement
    • Track campaign performance, analyse engagement data, and provide insights for continuous improvement
    • Analyse ad spend vs. results for paid social media campaigns (Facebook Ads, LinkedIn Ads, TikTok Ads, etc.)
    • Prepare detailed social media performance reports for internal stakeholders 
    • Provide insights on top-performing content, engagement trends, and growth opportunities
    • Recommend adjustments based on data-driven insights to improve future content and campaigns

    MINIMUM EDUCATION

    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing/ communications/ digital media or relevant qualification 

    MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum 3+ years’ work experience in social media, influencer marketing, or a related role.
