    Social Media Manager

    Background:
    Xiaomi was founded in 2010 by serial entrepreneur Lei Jun, who believes that high-quality technology doesn't need to cost a fortune. We create remarkable hardware, software, and Internet services for and with the help of our users. Our marketing strategy is not conventional—we believe in valuing our users above everything else, and for us, social media is not a side project. It is a core pillar of our business strategy and success.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Plan and execute campaigns for new product launches, seasonal holidays, and other occasions, in collaboration with other teams within and outside Xiaomi.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with Xiaomi’s regional social media team to drive regional campaigns and activities across South Africa.
    • Drive growth and engagement across Xiaomi African social media platforms, to support the growth of Xiaomi’s business in Brazil.
    • Translate Xiaomi’s unique user-friendly, engaging, and fun tone into one that will resonate with a African audience.
    • Must be willing to travel frequently for work.

     

    Qualifications:

    • Fluent verbal and written English skills.
    • Bachelor degree from an accredited university
    • At least 2-3 years of experience working in social media especially with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube, with hands- on management of social media accounts.
    • Demonstrated experience building social media audiences, including hands-on development of creative materials and copy
    • Experience with social media analytics and optimization techniques, having directly managed end-to-end execution of social media campaigns.
    • Creative writing skills.
    • Strong sense of design and aesthetics. Adobe Suite skills are a plus.
    • Entrepreneurial, intellectually curious, self-starter, capable of working independently & collaboratively. Must have a strong sense of responsibility, ability to work fast-paced environment, and be eager to work & learn alongside colleagues from different cultures and backgrounds.
    • Willing to grow and take up more responsibilities as needed by the business.
