    Software Developer (Backend and Database)

    About Job

    We’re looking for a passionate, experienced backend focused Software Developer to bring their mad skills into our Mr Price technology family!

    This role falls into our Retail project team and consists of an amazing group of individuals that come with a wealth of experience. They are focused on developing and improving our internal retail and merchandising systems, that will take The Mr Price Group into the future.

    what experience we’re looking for?

    • Relevant IT Qualification

    • 2- 5 years’ experience in Database Development with specific experience in:

    • A mainstream tech stack (ideally C#, JavaScript, Microsoft SQL)

    • Data interchange formats such as XML and JSON, and technologies related to processing, transformation and validation of them (i.e. XSD and XSLT)

    • Business Intelligence Tools e.g. Microsoft SSIS/SSAS/SSRS

    • API Integration Code Development

    • Understanding of integration principles & patterns

    • Implementing integration solutions using a middleware technology

    • React.js skills would be an advantage

    • Liaising with business and across IT teams to determine requirements, expanding on these requirements, designing appropriate software and database solutions and documenting these in a specification

    • Develop, implement, and manage standard operating processes for database administration

    • Develop, enhance, and maintain applications that conform to user requirements and specified architectural design with little supervision in well designed and efficient code

    • Ensuring that risk to data integrity is minimised through a thorough understanding of the impact of changes to systems and databases.

    • To gain a comprehensive understanding of the transactional systems and integration landscape and assess impact of new projects and business requirements on this environment.

    • To understand and assess the development standards and frameworks in place to ensure continued suitability to achieve objectives and meet requirements and suggest and implement changes where applicable

    • Complete and maintain relevant documentation and version control disciplines to maintain source code
