    Solution Owner

    Job Function:

    • To work with the business to identify, design and specify ERP solutions that meet internal and external client’s requirements in order to achieve business goals, deliver accurate and relevant information to key decision makers, to innovate, and implement and support identified solutions.

    Key Responsibilities

    Solution Ownership:

    • Own the ERP portfolio and strategy. This includes SAP ERP and Proteus.
    • Define and implement the application area roadmap.
    • Manage the design, delivery, implementation and support of applications within the portfolio.
    • Evaluate business requirements and propose solutions.
    • Identify and develop solutions for business problems affected by cross value chain demands.
    • Align work outputs to the ITIL framework focusing on aligning IT services with the needs of business.
    • Draw on own technical/professional knowledge and experience to analyse and make improvement recommendations to systems, policies and practises.
    • Identify interconnected problems, determine impact, patterns and trends and identify best fit alternatives to design and implement best practice solutions.
    • Manage and track delivery.
    • Ensure that project documentation is of quality, comprehensive and complete. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting the business with the business requirements specifications, compiling and agreeing a scope definition document, the functional specification document, and the quote and ensuring that sign off is achieved prior to implementation.
    • Work with SAIT teams to ensure that proposals are comprehensive and include end-to-end IT requirements.
    • Understand the latest trends and available market solutions and propose relevant solutions that will add and enhance value throughout all business functions.

    Vendor, Consultant and Stakeholder Management:

    • Pro-actively engage with business stakeholders.
    • Manage business stakeholders.
    • Manage application vendors and contracts.
    • Set, manage, and track application SLA’s with the business and vendors.
    • Manage consultant contracts, delivery and costs.

    Team Management:

    • Manage the application team to ensure that applications are implemented and supported.

    Financial Management:

    • Manage application costs.
    • Manage team budget.
    • Assist with the calculation of the business case and return on investment with stakeholders where required.

    Governance:

    • Track and manage application costs.
    • Track and manage team budget.
    • Assist with the calculation of the business case and return on investment with stakeholders where required.
    • Provide management statistics and reports as required.
    • Assist with IT audits.
    • Address and close out solution area audit findings.
    • Document team procedures and procedures.
    • Ensure that procedures and processes are executed.
    • Ensure that policies and procedures are adhered to.
    • Quality assure team output.
    • Attend the required IT forums.

    Knowledge:

    • An understanding of business processes within Logistics, Warehousing and Distribution
    • Strong understanding of IT delivery and business partnering
    • Understanding of SAP and / or Proteus (Progress)

    • Minimum undergraduate degree or higher diploma in Information Technology
    • SAP certified (preferably SAP FI)
    • Proteus / Progress skills advantageous

    • Location – Based at Jet Park
    • Driver’s License and own transport
    • Traveling when required
    • After hours work as required
