Sourcing Manager at Alstom

The purpose of the job is for the successful candidate to support project excecution by managing suppliers Quality, Cost, Delivery and Economic Development performance.

Responsibilities
Sourcing performance

• Bring expertise to sourcing team
• Support execution of the sourcing strategy for metallic and c-class comodities
• Domain financial performance (cost control, product continuous improvement focus)
• Ensure compliance to processes, and application of tools for team
• Supplier performance management for overall project activities
• Contribute to commodity risk management and sets appropriate mitigation plan within domain
• Manage supplier QCDED performance with interfaces in quality, supply chain, economic development
• Facilitate resolution of major issues through escalation processes
• Secure supplier selection and purchase order placement on time within domain
• Support Buyers when facing commercial and contractual negotiation during project execution phase
• Challenge internal stakeholders (engineering, supply chain, quality,etc.) to secure project execution and profitability
• Track sourcing performance in project and issue action plan in case of deviatio

People management and development

• Secures compliance of the team to the Gibela code of Ethics
• Manage local buyer team interface with with central sourcing teams
• Monitor team workload and process to balance
• Assess and develop team competencies
• Drive Gibela values

• Act as a mentor and coach through direct reports

Operationnal Excellence & Cash Focus

• Support supply chain to monitor and secure raw material inventory and OTIF objectives
• Support quality on NCR treatment and improvement, CONQ management
• Support accounting department to align on invoice accouting and payable days
• Actively participate in continous improvement

Requirements

• Degree - Commercial preferred (technical/ industrial may be considered)
• Proven work experience in a similar role
• Knowledge and experience in metallic/ manufacturing industry in a similar role
• Solid working experience, with sourcing/supply chain exposure (manufacturing / automotive / rail industries preferred), with at least 3 years in management
• Understanding of process dynamics and sound business judgement
• Ability to negotiate and sustain networking relationships
• Comfortable with figures and in collecting, analysing and interpreting data
• Solid judgement with ability to make good decisions
• MS Office packages proficiency
