Special Workman: Distribution Sub Depots - ENER19186 at City of Ekurhuleni

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 11 or N2 equivalent certificate
• Valid Code EC Drivers Licence with PrDP
• 2 years' experience in similar environment

Core Responsibilities:

• Supervise hand excavation for the laying of cables and the planting of poles using hand tools
• Supervise and assist with the installation of underground MV, LV and Streetlights cables according to works order instructions
• Supervise and assist with the installation of overhead conductors and installation, relocation and removal of metering and distribution boxes
• Install, remove and replace streetlight luminaires, poles, transformers and MV switchgear
• Operate mechanical plant and equipment to achieve Departmental and Divisional set goals and objectives
• Comply with safety regulations as a requirement of the OHS Act
• Monitor that the general handy work is completed, adhering to governance and safety requirements
• Prevent wasteful expenditure and comply with Finance related legislation
• Ensure compliance with the Batho Pele principles, maintain good customer relations and efficient and productive service delivery
• Provide people management to maintain a high level of productivity
