    Specialist: Credit Book Control - Pipeine

    Purpose Statement

    To minimise bad debt, enhance profit and mitigate risk for Capitec Business Bank through:

    • Contributing deep expert knowledge towards the Credit Book Control strategy.
    • Developing, implementing, monitoring, and reporting on the tactical solutions for pre-delinquent, collections and recoveries.
    • Identifying high risk portfolios, clients and industries in distress – and providing subject matter expertise towards designing, implementing and monitoring optimal risk management solutions, policies and procedures.  

    Experience

    Minimum:

    • At least 3 years within an ongoing-risk management role in a credit environment. 
    • Applying data analytics for reporting and monitoring purposes.
    • Credit analysis experience and influencing decision-tree strategies through the use of data analytics and processes.
    • Influencing strategies.
    • Business analysis: Design and implementation of processes and procedures.
    • Process efficiencies: Draft of idea documents and business specifications.
    • Project coordination
    • Knowledge of / experience in commercial law. 

    Ideal:

    • 5 years of experience in an ongoing risk management role, in a credit environment.
    • Drafting business plans. 
    • Experience in building scorecard, i.e. behavioural, handover, collection scorecards etc.
    • Experience in granting, collections and/or recoveries and/or intuitive / judgemental credit environment within the financial services sector.

    Qualifications (Minimum)

    • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Credit Management

    Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)

    • Honours Degree in Finance or Credit Management

    Knowledge

    Minimum:

    • Sound understanding of credit and corporate legislation and processes.
    • Banking and financial services industry practice.
    • Collateral variants / types of processes.
    • Risk management / disaster recovery and business continuity practices.
    • Operations and process management.
    • National Credit Act (NCA)
    • Retail and/or Business credit products (Fixed term and facilities) 
    • Collections and/or recoveries systems and processes 
    • Programming language SQL and database structures
    • Reporting and data analytics.
    • Relationship building and management techniques.

    Ideal:

    • Retail and Business credit products (Fixed term and facilities) 
    • Collections and recoveries systems and processes 
    • Credit risk management throughout the credit life cycle (granting to book sale)
    • National Credit Act (NCA)
    • Consumer Protection Act (CPA)
    • Banks Act and Basel III Risk Framework 
    • Protection of Personal Information Act (POPI)
    • Debt Collectors Act (DCA) 
    • Capitec Bank’s Credit Policies
    • Capitec Bank's banking system (Front- and Back-End)
    • Knowledge of Capitec Bank’s Centralised Collections systems and processes
