    Specialist - Dealing and Settlements (Maternity Cover)

    Job Advert Summary

    The Specialist: Dealing & Settlement will be expected to work with the Trade teams within Maitland’s Fund Services division. The individual will be required to assist with issues coming out of the operations, review of processes and improvement thereof.

    This individual will also be responsible for projects aimed at improving the processes within the Trade teams, actively partake in all system upgrades/enhancements, testing, Client onboarding as well as manage the Trade team’s KPI deliveries.

    Minimum Requirements

    • B.Com or similar tertiary business study, and at least 5 years experience in Asset Management portfolio administration
    • Experience in On market, Off market and FOF trading across all products and markets.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Improve the Dealing & Settlement team’s daily and monthly processes and update process documents accordingly;
    • Assist with bespoke processes and the standardization of the Dealing & Settlement processes to enable the automation of processing trade and payment volumes.
    • Provide solutions for corrective actions identified from incidents and ensure successful implementation across the team.
    • Be the primary liaison with ICT regarding applications used by the Dealing & Settlement team
    • Be the primary liaison with external vendors and banks
    • Manage project deliveries including end to end testing and implementation for the team
    • Manage Client onboarding and Client offboarding
    • Partake in projects and provide support across all products and markets across the Trade teams.
    • Lead training applicable for the team
    • Perform the Team Leader oversight function as and when required
    • Provide solutions for complex client requirements including client engagement & testing
    • Manage and co-ordinate the Trade teams KPI deliveries
    • Implementation of checks and controls to mitigate risk;
    • Acting as signatory as per operational requirements.

    Skills and Competencies

    • A high attention to detail and structured approach to work.
    • Strong Asset Management middle office knowledge and experience .
    • Sound knowledge and experience of back office administration processes.
    • Advances level of experience in using Excel, Xceptor, NXM, InvestOne, OMGEO, STP and other related systems
    • Candidate needs to have an understanding of portfolio management processes and trading lifecycles.
    • Excellent communication skills (written & verbal).
    • Confident & enthusiastic, and able to work under pressure.
