    Specialist Purchasing Services

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

    The above position exists in the Materials and Facility Purchasing responsible for non-production items required. The incumbent will be responsible for the functions listed below:

    Optimum Sourcing of Key Services:​​​​​​​

    • Prepare the relevant services’ sourcing strategies to ensure operational stability.
    • Prepare analysis & stats to control & support sourcing strategy & strategic planning.
    • Contribute to the definition of key services’ sourcing strategy & drive implementation.
    • Conduct supply market research & analysis.
    • Ensure supplier development via management of supplier performance & risk.
    • Ensure sourcing of BO EME/QSE suppliers to enhance supply base & transformation.

    Cost Management:​​​​​​​

    • Achievement of best possible cost.
    • Challenge the costs through bench-marking & negotiation.
    • Negotiates pricing, payment terms, terms and conditions of purchase and issues Purchase Orders in accordance with schedule constraint.
    • Ensure Annual Price Reviews are completed & updated on system on time (aligned to budget & support budget creation process)
    • Contract negotiation based on open calculation, lead-time & total cost.

    Vendor Contract Management:​​​​​​​

    • Proactive contract expiry management.
    • Ensure on-time kick-off of tender process or contract extension.
    • Conduct tender process & develop tender documents with internal stakeholder support.
    • Facilitate/ lead contract negotiation & preparation between supplier & internal stakeholders till contract approval.

    Ensure Achievement of good governance & Administration:​​​​​​​

    • Ensure SOX. compliance and compliance to internal policies and procedures.
    • Ensure valid BBBEE certificates for suppliers are in place, and that the various transformation targets for this portfolio are carried out and achieved.
    • Ensure supplier compliance to all relevant sector regulations and codes
    • ISO 14001:2015 & C02 target are met where application.

    Supplier Management:​​​​​​​

    • Performance/KPI management & record keeping
    • Ensure achievement of operational KPIs by the suppliers (Delivery, Quality, Safety, Environmental targets)
    • Promote supplier development to improve TSAM’s PP/ESD Score.
    • Manage any supply related risk (financial/ supply/ industrial) & lead risk mitigation.

    Other/Ad-hoc Tasks:​​​​​​​

    • Admin duties/ support
    • Day-to-day customer/ supplier queries
    • Special Assignments/ Projects
    • Presentation preparation & reporting to all levels of mgmt.
    • Conduct periodic supplier mgmt. meetings and visits.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • NQF 6 Qualification (min 360 credits) in Business; Supply Chain Management, Industrial/Civil Engineering, or any other qualification provided that the candidates hold the necessary experience outlined below.

    WORK EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

    • A min of 5-7 years’ experience in similar industry (Construction or civil or manufacturing etc.).
    • Must be Self-motivated and results driven.
    • Proven knowledge of the relevant industry’s supply base (e.g., built industry, supply chain/ automotive industry)
    • Experience in sourcing activities and negotiations from the production equipment and/or construction business - engineering, design, and project management related activities.
    • Must have FMCG experience
    • Good knowledge in contracting.
    • Good interpersonal & communication skills
    • Analytical, systematic thinking in Project Sourcing.
    • Stakeholder Management: Team Spirit & competent treatment of suppliers (ability to effectively lead decision-making process for cross-functional team to ensure achievement of TSAM goals and customers’ needs)
    • Project management capabilities.
    • Ability to prioritize and multitask.
    • High independence in working & distinct ability to accomplish objectives.
    • Proactive attitude towards work, teamwork, and cooperation.
    • High numeracy skills (constructive & productive thinking in relevant industry costs; strong supplier negotiation skills & management experience).
