Responsible and accountable for managing all securities related settlements ensuring that they are pre-matched, committed and settled on time whilst providing excellent customer service. To ensure that the various functions are aligned with any developments in the underlying businesses and those operations are in a state of continual improvement via managing and prioritising resources and projects with the Change team. Act as the escalation point for client queries and complaints. Liaise with Front Office, PCG, Collateral Team and the Business Owner on new products, settling of fees and redesign of processes. Essential to understand the regulatory environment covering equities and listed derivatives and ensure there are no breaches. Assist in rolling out and embedding new Policies in the Bank. Essential in-depth knowledge required around the operating process and interaction with the JSE and STRATE, and how the various products get cleared and finally settled.
Conduct basic statistical analysis to track performance variances and determine the root causes of errors. Make recommendations for productivity or process enhancements to process owners. Ensure that processes, control requirements and risk management frameworks that have been designed for the area are understood by all members of the team. Facilitate settlements and payments and provide direction/guidance to team members through demonstrating a strong understanding of the regulatory environment and being aware of recent regulatory changes applicable for settlements Point of contact for the internal support departments of Client On-boarding, Product Control and Absa Capital Securities.
