Specialist: Tech Strat Engagement Lead at Vodacom

Responsible to drive all engagements relating to the Vodacom Group Technology Strategy across all seven local markets in the Sub-Saharan Africa region. Key Accountabilities And Decision Ownership

Your Responsibilities will include:

• Develop an engagement approach for each of Tech2025 Strategy work streams across Vodacom Group Technology, the local markets, and other Group functions. Responsible for the timely engagement with the local markets relating to Tech2025 updates through a range of channels to ensure ease of access, clarity, consistency and transparency.
• To deliver on all Vodacom Group Technology Tech2025 engagement requirements (compliance to the Technology Golden Rules e.g. data-driven, automation, API-first etc.) in alignment with communications processes, quality standards, and the annual Technology Communications planning calendar.
• Develop a narrative for the Tech2025 strategy which can be shared across all local markets to aid in the understanding of Tech2025 strategy, ambitions and benefits, and expected outcomes.
• Demonstrate awareness of current market and industry trends across all local markets in the Sub-Saharan Africa region.
• Develop a Technology Strategy communication plan to drive engagement of the Tech2025 strategy across the seven local markets.
• To provide an advisory service to the Vodacom Group Technology division, including the Vodacom Group CTO, to manage internal campaigns from inception to completion – inclusive of the briefing process and communication plan compilation.
• Identify appropriate channels for specific campaigns e.g. town-hall sessions, Group CTO quick reads, webinars and assist in the management of communication channels within Vodacom Group Technology.

The Ideal Candidate For This Role Will Have

• Matric / Grade 12 or SAQA Accredited Equivalent*
• Equivalent essential and 5 years + experience is essential OR
• 3-year degree or diploma in either Communications, Journalism, PR Marketing + 3-5 years’ experience
• Research and analytical capabilities, attention to detail and commercial savvy.
• Strategic thinking and knowledge of emerging technologies.
• Strong communication & presentation skills.
• Sound understanding and knowledge of internal communication as part of the overall communications process.
• Branding knowledge
• Project management/planning, Basic finance, Publishing
• Understanding of marketing and communication principles
• Intermediate or advanced computer literacy in Word; Outlook; PowerPoint presentations & design; Excel
• Understand principles of communication
• Broad knowledge/experience of the Telecommunication Industry.
