Create and maintain model types in the Bill of Material system as per approved model listings with all related information and descriptions.
Create and maintain the respective model code database for new and existing models for upload into the manufacturing system.
Create and maintain vehicle pre-mark ups per model utilising sales groups both local and German as required according to the technical delivery rules.
Import Bill of Material updates by production period from MAN Germany and update systems accordingly.
Import technical delivery specifications (TLF) into the system and investigate exceptions if required.
Research manufacturing order queries, shortages, excess parts, change faxes, MAN production period updates, NCR’s and update the bills of material and specifications accordingly.
Liaise with Engineering personnel when creating and changing vehicle specifications so that local parts and bills of materials can be considered.
Investigate, liaise and introduce Product Direction Committee (PDC) related issues in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Lead design projects adhering to MAN, DIN, ISO and other relevant legal and compliance guidelines.
Follow all guidelines for approval and distribution of technical drawing and information.
Ensure all ordering documents are accurately updated with revision control and timeously communicated.
Prepare vehicle specification changes in conjunction with Marketing for new and existing models for submission and subsequent follow up.
Update vehicle specifications database to the latest level.
Supply approved vehicle specifications to Sales and Plant as required for CKD/CBU ordering.
Verify customer specific order specification issues with sales bearing in mind standardisation of options at Production plant.
Provide technical support for the Homologation and NATIS vehicle registration processes utilising engineering drawings and specification systems.
Create and maintain the database for the vehicle manufacturer’s plate according to the South African road 5.
Coordinate production trials, ramp-up activities and process validation.

Qualifications:
Technical qualification or a comparable qualification
Engineering Degree/Diploma

Experience:
Experience with Bills of Materials - 1 year
Technical experience in a manufacturing / assembly environment - 3 years
Working knowledge of Road transport legislation and vehicle data plating - 1 year
Working knowledge of CAD drawing software would be advantageous
