Staff Nurse at Free State Department of Health

Requirements:

• Grade 1: Experience: None, Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration with the SANC as Staff Nurse. Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration with the SANC as Staff Nurse.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Good Communication and interpersonal relations. Strong ability to work within a team. Ability to work independently, under pressure and meet deadlines. Be willing to travel extensively. Knowledge of policies and HIV/AIDS management, all treatment policies and guideline. Appropriate experience in the management of HIV treatment. Confidentiality.

Duties:

• Provide Health Education to patients accessing care. Measure, interpret and record vital signs. Operate all relevant apparatus and equipment. Provide treatment literacy to clients on chronic medication to enhance adherence. Offer quality HIV Counselling and Testing services on site including HIV SS and Index Testing. Provide quality TB, STI & COVID Screening. Assist professional nurses with clinical procedures, preparation of patients for diagnostic and surgical procedures., effective utilization of resources such as to order stock and equipment in a cost-effective manner and immediate report of lost or damaged resources) and maintain professional growth/ethical standards and self-development: To maintain the code of conduct as required in the Public Service and by the Professional Body. Maintain quality data management in line with the SOP's.
