Starke Ayres: Warehouse Supervisor at Plennegy Group

RESPONSBILITIES:

Goods Receiving and Reconciliation

• Reconcile all goods received with delivery notes, depot transfers, and credit notes, recording discrepancies in writing.
• Ensure received goods are promptly moved to the main store after verification.
• Check all expiry dates on receipt of goods.
• Ensure all receipts are GI’d and packed away within 8 hours.

Returns Management

• Reconcile returns and ensure they are moved to the correct locations before being written off.

Reporting

• Report shortages, surpluses, and unfit products to the Distribution Centre Supervisor after informing the supplier.
• Report shortages and losses to the Depot Supervisor immediately.

Quality Control

• Arrange re-packing for products that no longer meet quality standards.
• Perform spot checks to verify order accuracy before dispatch.
• Arrange for re-packing of in-warehouse damages and report them to the Distribution Centre Supervisor.

Order and Workflow Management

• Prioritize sales orders/invoices based on importance and delivery dates, distributing them to pickers/packers.
• Ensure even distribution of workload to manage picking/packing volumes and deadlines.

Vehicle Management

• Request necessary labor from the Distribution Centre Supervisor for off-loading vehicles.
• Off-load all vehicles within the prescribed time to avoid demurrage charges.
• Supervise off-loading operations, ensuring safety and security of products.

Storage and Housekeeping

• Store products safely, maintaining cleanliness and saleable condition.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards and an organized workspace.

Security

• Assist in security measures during vehicle loading and off-loading.
• Ensure warehouse cages, gates, and entrances are secured at all times.
• Adhere to and assist in implementing security measures for product and facility safety.

Pest Control and Maintenance

• Recommend fumigation schedules, rodent control, and pest risk measures to the Distribution Centre Supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 (essential)
• Tertiary Qualification (ideal)

Experience:

• 2 Years Logistics, Dispatch, or warehouse coordination (essential)
