Job Description

• A well-established consulting engineering firm is seeking a Structural Rebar Detailer to join its growing team in Durbanville, Cape Town. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with experience in reinforcement detailing to work on a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate reinforcement detailing and bending schedules while working closely with structural engineers to ensure quality, compliance, and efficient project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce accurate rebar bending schedules and reinforcement detailing drawings for structural projects.
• Interpret architectural and structural drawings to develop detailed reinforcement layouts.
• Collaborate with structural engineers to ensure detailing complies with project specifications.
• Review drawings for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with relevant South African standards.
• Maintain organised drawing registers, revisions, and project documentation.
• Provide technical support during the construction phase and assist with resolving site queries.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure the timely procurement and delivery of reinforcement materials.
• Conduct site visits and assist with reinforcement inspections where required.

Minimum Requirements

• Proven experience as a Structural Rebar Detailer.
• Strong understanding of reinforced concrete detailing and construction principles.
• Ability to interpret structural and architectural drawings.

Proficiency in one or more of the following:

• AutoCAD
• CADS RC
• AutoPADS
• Similar reinforcement detailing software
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Knowledge of relevant SANS standards and reinforcement detailing requirements.

Advantageous

• Experience using specialist rebar detailing software.
• Certificate or formal training in Rebar Detailing.
