The Wits Student Call Centre assists students, parents and various stake holders with all Academic, Application related enquiries.
The Call Centre’s primary responsibility is to provide written and telephonic assistance for all student related general enquiries. The staff are expected to interact with students, to provide and process information, in response to a range of enquiries E.g. Closing dates, bursary and residence applications, graduation dates, course changes, and publication dates of exams.
The roles require staff with exceptional ‘people skills’, outstanding customer focussed ethos, and the ability to share and gather considerable knowledge/information related to student life at the University.
The Call Centre agent will provide a service by handling first line enquiries and resolving problems on student related matters and escalating calls only when matters require, specialised information. The agents will be expected to provide information to all applicants and students in line with standards and protocols of the call centre. They will need to communicate clearly, concisely and professionally and utilise listening skills to identify problems and will maintain accurate records logged on the data base. Call Centre experience would be advantageous.
