Subject Matter Expert – Database Developer

Shaw Academy is looking for a subject matter expert who has a proven track record of working in database development and maintenance to work with our team of educators to curate a brand-new course for thousands of students worldwide.   This is a short term contract position with the potential to become full time.

The ideal candidate will have a recognised qualification in Information technology, have proven track record of working in active DBA environment with an in-depth knowledge of SQL and have at least 3 - 5 years of industry experience. You have in-depth knowledge of relational database management systems, object-oriented database management systems and XML database management systems.   You can communicate how to complete structured queries and can demonstrate the way to complete the correct method of maintenance, recovery, trouble shooting and handling failover of a database?

• Be a proven subject matter expert
• Be able to develop and organise your knowledge into a comprehensive and structured curriculum of 32 lessons aimed at a novice entry level programmer advancing to a proficient level.
• Work with our production and quality assurance team to develop engaging lessons and provide feedback to ensure that our students have an outstanding learning experience.
• Ability to take initiative and work independently.
• Be flexible and open to change.
• Open to critical feedback and work well under pressure.
• The ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritise accordingly.
