Breede Valley Municipality is a local municipality established in terms of the Local Government: Municipal Structures Act 117 of 1998, with its registered office and principal place of business at cnr Baring- and High Street, Worcester, Western Cape Province
Co-ordinates and manages the operations of the By- Law Enforcement and Security services section according to the relevant legislation.
Duties:
Communicating with the immediate superior on specific Key Performance Areas (Bylaw Enforcement, Road Safety, Public Safety) with a view to aligning functions and service delivery objectives against the capacity and capability of the Section
Providing input to the immediate superior on operational needs for consideration during the preparation of the annual budget
Participating in operational discussions/meetings and elaborating/ presenting factual information to support the status of activities, progress/constraints/quality and cost dimensions associated with current maintenance programs or urgent works
Ensuring the implementation of legislation, policies and procedures
Coordinate specific activities associated with controlling traffic flow and public safety
Coordinate the activities of the law enforcement officers by ensuring that the area are patrolled and monitored for bylaw transgressions, minor traffic offences and safekeeping of municipal amenities within the Breede Valley Municipality
Direct and control the safeguarding of council property through effective action
Maintain all bylaws of the Breede Valley Municipality and all others promulgated in Provincial Gazettes
Monitoring attendance/conduct and output and addressing deviations from agreed performance indicators through meetings/counselling and/or other approved methods designed to improve and motivate personnel
Monitoring/reviewing capital and operating expenditure of the Section and implementing various checks and balances with a view to identifying, investigating and notifying the immediate superior/line manager of variances and outcomes
Provide input into strategies to curb corruption and establish/implement control measures to limit the opportunity for corruption
Responsible for the assessment of vehicle, plant and equipment condition by perusal of inspection documentation, service records and registers with a view of identifying with risks and the availability of alternative courses of action
Interact with internal and external stakeholders and members of the public
