Minimum Requirements:
Hold a recognised tertiary qualification relevant to security management or law enforcement from a nationally registered institution
Advantageous: Advanced occupational courses in investigation discipline from a recognised institution
Be registered with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA)
Have 5 to 10 years’ experience as a senior investigator within the mining security environment
Have a proven track record in the investigation of the various criminal threats facing the mining industry including white collar crime, precious metals, non-ferrous metals and property related cases
Demonstrate ability for high level report writing in English
Demonstrate ability to lead an extensive multi-disciplinary and diverse investigative team including working with co-sourced business partners and forensic experts
Display a working knowledge of the overall security discipline
Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test, and such other tests as may be required to assess the applicant’s suitability for employment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Developing action plans and managing investigative resources to ensure an effective investigative response
Giving effect to the full case management principles inherent in investigative work, from initiation, investigation, prosecution, recommending remedial action and close out
Providing detailed high level investigation and information updates and reports
Planning, leading, organising and controlling direct reports as well as seconded security operations personnel, external forensic experts and co-sourced investigative business partners
Deploying specialised investigative technology, to conduct investigations into security breaches and losses,
Ensuring information driven investigative responses within the ambit of the law, to address identified security threats to the company and integrity of the security endeavours
Managing the collection, collation, analysis of crime and security information with which to effect an operational or investigative response, including special project driven investigations
Overseeing the work done in respect of pre-employment screening and vetting
Administrating the operational and governance processes pertaining to investigative responses
