    Trackless LHD Operator

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Be in possession of a Matric / Grade 12 Qualification or Equivalent

    • Be in possession of the relevant LHD Certificate and License (Certificate of Competency)

    • Have at least 2 years’ experience in a mining environment

    • Successfully complete a Dover assessment, at a level appropriate to the position

    • Be highly motivated self-starter with proven positive attendance record

    • Must be in possession of a valid driver’s license

    • Successfully undertake security screening with zero material findings

    • Be in possession of a valid Blasting Certificate (advantageous)

    • Successfully completed Competent A and B (advantageous)

    • Have at least 2 years’ experience as a LHD Operator in a mining environment (advantageous)

    • Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test, and such other tests as may be required to assess the applicant’s suitability for employment.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Does a pre-use inspection on this equipment by means of a checklist and report deficiencies to supervisor.

    • Performs basic maintenance on equipment e.g. top up engine oil-, water- and hydraulic oil, check for oil leaks and clean equipment according to standards and procedures.

    • Maintains Safety, Health and Environmental practices according to standards and procedures.

    • Performs end of shift procedures according to standards and procedures e.g., parks the LHD at the designated area, cleans equipment and reports to supervisor.

    • Performs any other activities necessary for the effective completion of his/her work.

    Trackless Drill Rig Operator

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Be in possession of a Matric / Grade 12 Qualification or Equivalent

    • Be in possession of a Drill Rig Operator certificate and license (certificate of competency)

    • Be in possession of a valid Blasting Certificate (advantageous)

    • Have at least 3 years’ experience on a Drill Rig (advantageous)

    • Have a Dover Test

    • Have knowledge of relevant legislation in respect of the Mine Health & Safety Act

    • Have very strong interpersonal and management skills on all levels

    • Have excellent achievements in safety, production, cost control and cost saving initiatives

    • Successfully undertake security screening with zero material findings

    Data Engineer

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science; Statistics; Information Systems or any other relevant quantitative data field

    • 5 years’ experience in a mining; technology; financial/banking environment

    • Experience working with query authoring, relational and non-relational databases, and a familiarity with a variety of databases

    • Experience developing, managing, and optimizing big data architectures, pipelines and tools (incl. include Hadoop, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis and Kafka)

    • Experience performing internal and external root cause analysis

    • Experience working with cloud-based data solutions (e.g., AWS, EC2, EMR, RDS, and Redshift)

    • Proven experience successfully manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large and disconnected data sets

    • Experience with automation and configuration management

    • System monitoring, alerting, and dashboarding experience

    • Be in possession of valid driver’s license, Code 08 (EB).

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Enhancing existing technologies (control systems) and the implementation of effective operational process controls systems (Underground) that will support rigorous data analysis and capability building programmes to enhance its effectiveness.

    • Analyse and organise raw data by converting unstructured data into an existing structured data model.

    • Implement data pipelines which will encapsulate design of systems for processing and storing data.

    • Create, test, maintain and optimise database pipeline architectures.

    • Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, storing and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and Cloud-database computing technologies (i.e. AWS)

    Superintendent Security Investigations

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Hold a recognised tertiary qualification relevant to security management or law enforcement from a nationally registered institution 

    • Advantageous: Advanced occupational courses in investigation discipline from a recognised institution

    • Be registered with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA)

    • Have 5 to 10 years’ experience as a senior investigator within the mining security environment

    • Have a proven track record in the investigation of the various criminal threats facing the mining industry including white collar crime, precious metals, non-ferrous metals and property related cases

    • Demonstrate ability for high level report writing in English

    • Demonstrate ability to lead an extensive multi-disciplinary and diverse investigative team including working with co-sourced business partners and forensic experts

    Utility Vehicle Operator

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Be in possession of a Grade 12 Qualification or equivalent.

    • Be in possession of the relevant Utility Vehicle Certification and License.

    • Have the appropriate rating on the Dover/Vienna assessment

    • Have more than one [1] years’ experience on a Utility Vehicle (Advantageous)

    • Have two [2] years’ experience in a production or mining environment.

    • Appreciation of and for TM3 machines in terms of the production cycle

    • Shared responsibility for the serviceability and general condition of the machine

     

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Performs pre-use inspections and reports defects to maintenance and breakdown crews

    • Performs basic routine maintenance on equipment e.g., lubricant and coolant top-ups

    • Assist maintenance and breakdown crews during services on machine

    • Ensuring that all relevant daily targets are met consistently

    • Ensuring compliance to the Mine Health and Safety Act.

    • Ensuring effective utilization of equipment.

    • Promoting and developing team effectiveness within the section.
