Supplier Quality Assurance Technician at Komatsu Mining

Job Specification (not totally inclusive):

•  Reviewing supplier performance and align incoming receiving inspection to effectively minimize the risk of nonconforming product to be booked into inventory;
• Assessing the suitability of existing and new vendors based on their capability and resources;
• Visiting vendor’s facilities and observing the manufacturing environment to review and assess their procedures for improvement purpose;
• Maintaining detailed reports on supplier quality, including defect rates, PPM and areas resulting in flaws;
• Providing technical advice and guidance to suppliers on reduction of defect rates, and inspection of Flame Proof products;
• Provide quality requirements and perform First Article approval on new product or new supplier;
• Participate in supplier Audits and drive findings closure effectively and timeously;
• Prevent nonconformance reoccurrence by following up on notification/SCAR raised and evaluate the CAPA effectiveness; and
• Work closely with Goods Receiving Team to assess suitable sampling plan on high-risk suppliers

Minimum Skills required;

• Grade 12/equivalent;  
• BTech degree or Diploma in Quality Management/ related qualification is required;
• At least 5 years’ experience working in a Manufacturing/Quality environment;
• Good working knowledge of quality control standards and FLP requirements;
• Ability to analyse and interpret technical information; and guide suppliers to improve process efficiencies;
• Excellent statistical analysis and good understanding of quality assurance;
• Computer literate in MS Office suit; and
• Must have valid license and own reliable transport.
