Supply Chain Management / Logistics Management Internship Programme at Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• A minimum of diploma (NQF 6) in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Purchasing Management (attach transcript)
• New entrants into supply chain management/Logistics Management environment (in other words you must not have worked or held a supply chain management/Logistics Management internship before)
• Basic knowledge of Legal/Finance for reporting on commitments and provisions
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel; willingness to learn asset management software
• Strong organisational and analytical skills
• Ability to maintain accurate records
• Ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders
• Must be a South African citizen

DUTIES

• Assist in updating and checking the correctness of the internal purchase requisitions
• Help verify the cost centre code, departmental code, and budget code
• Generate and print orders from the ITS
• Assist in preparing and distributing meeting agendas, minutes and supporting documents
• Assist in maintaining the supplier database and ensure compliance with regard to legislative framework
• Coordinate day-to-day travel activities of specific DHET officials
• Help arrange travel bookings, hotels, accommodations, conferences, car rental, and flight bookings
• Assist in ensuring that proper records management systems are in place
• Assist in Lifecycle Management: maintain information from creation to disposal
• Contribute to the overall development of SMU and actively improve institutional culture
• Perform any other duties assigned by the line manager
