    Support Service Technician - Somerset West

    The responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to the following: 

    • The primary focus will be the repair and maintenance of batteries at customer sites, both locally and internationally as well as at the office. This will include, but not be limited to the basic setup of various inverters as well as battery failures
    • Field service technicians travel to customer sites to repair and install equipment, and usually work independently with little daily supervision.

    Repairs:

    • Repair and maintenance of batteries, including logging faults and problems for continued improved products.
    • Diagnostics and resolutions to ensure customer satisfaction.
    • Forensic investigation into facility failures, understanding root cause and establishing control measures to prevent re-occurrence.
    • Accurate and timely reporting to all stakeholders, including customer feedback.
    • Complete Battery Test Services to all industry clients.
    • Apply continuous improvement techniques in all activities to ensure ever improving facilities.
    • Issue diagnostics and resolution, ensuring high quality and timely reporting to the team and customer.
    • Contributing to deliver a complete Battery Test Service to all Industry clients.
    • Define Test Cycles, Operating conditions and various support functions based on all customer requirements/specifications
    • Customer Support: 
    • Provide engineering support based on all customer specifications. Inclusive of working on live high voltage (up to 1000V) battery systems.

    Requirements include: 

    • Technical Diploma/Certificate or BTech – Electrical Engineering
    • At least 3-5 years relevant experience  
    • Technical knowledge about products
    • Computer literate
    • Ability to read and interoperate electrical schematics
    • Proficient in MS Office packages
    • High level of system knowledge and understanding for effective support and maintenance functions
    • Skills and Abilities Required: 
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Able to make limited decisions on technical matters within framework
    • Building and Maintaining Relationships
    • Communication
    • Able to work in a team and alone
    • Must be physically fit and able to travel and perform duties under harsh and possibly hazardous client site conditions and requirements
