System Analyst at Vaal University of Technology

Key performance areas include but are not limited to:

• Examine and evaluate systems
• Research and test new technologies
• Conduct proof of concepts and pilots
• Liaise with users to track additional requirements and features
• Implement cybersecurity technologies
• Monitor logs and reports for cybersecurity incidents
• Conduct Vulnerability Assessments on Infrastructure and Applications
• Ability to create and maintain scripts
• Document interfaces between new and legacy systems
• Validate changes by testing programs
• Ability to build and deploy applications using CI/CD
• Perform SQL queries
• Monitoring system performance to ensure everything runs smoothly and securely
• Liaise with users to track additional requirements and features
• Documenting any processes which employees need to follow to successfully work within our computing system

Qualifications and Experience:

• 3 Year Diploma in IT
• Project Management Certificate
• ITIL (Advantage)
• 2 years IT experience in System Analysis, Design and Development,
• 2 years of experience working with Linux Systems (Ubuntu, CentOS or similar

Skills And Competencies:

• Familiarity with SQL and database operations
• Familiarity with Linux Operating System
• Familiarity with coding or scripting (e.g., JS, Python, Linux)
• Familiarity with Cybersecurity tools and technologies
• Ability to prioritize a wide range of workloads with critical deadlines
