Analysis, design, development, testing, documentation and delivery of new or revised functionality in accordance with the SDLC.
Participation in upgrade projects (new releases or support packages).
Monitoring and analysis of system support calls/requests and issue management.
Refinement of business systems solutions.
Participating in implementation, system support, upgrades and rollout
Training users how to use software effectively in their operations.
Engagement with stakeholders on systems, processes and business requirements
Support project deliverables and milestones for multiple projects
Core Requirements:
3-year National Diploma OR Degree in Information Systems/ Computer Science, or related field.
Minimum of two years relevant experience in a business system development and support environment.
Experience of working on system implementation projects.
Aptitude to learn system functionality.
A sound understanding of reporting and analytics.
Demonstrated ability to provide structured documentation.
Strong analytical and problem-solving
Communication and exceptional interpersonal skills.
Ability to work within a team.
Experience in training staff (modules, presentations etc.)
A meticulous approach to work i.e., keen attention to detail and accuracy for working under pressure while managing competing demands / multiple projects.
Advantageous:
Experience in the public sector and/or research administration processes.
Hands-on configuration experience of package or ERP systems
Configuration skills and experience in Converis, Pentaho, or Web Development.
Hands-on SQL and/or XML experience
Familiarity with command line in Linux
A sound knowledge of data migration/integration methods and tools
Prior experience on a portal or web-based system implementation
