    Systems Data Manager (Western Cape)

    Description
    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Technology Strategy:

    • Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with business goals, including systems architecture, infrastructure, and software solutions.
    • Identify emerging technologies, trends, and opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, customer experience, and competitive advantage.

    Data Management:

    • Oversee data governance, data quality, and data security initiatives to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of data assets.
    • Implement data management best practices, policies, and procedures to optimise data utilisation and compliance with regulatory requirements.

    Systems Optimisation:

    • Evaluate existing systems, platforms, and applications to identify areas for optimisation, integration, or replacement to improve performance and scalability.
    • Lead system implementation projects, upgrades, and migrations, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery and adoption.

    Business Intelligence and Analytics:

    • Develop and implement business intelligence strategies, data analytics frameworks, and reporting dashboards to provide actionable insights and support data-driven decision-making.
    • Utilise advanced analytics techniques, predictive modeling, and machine learning algorithms to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities in data.

Ideal candidates will excel in hiring and retaining high performers, actively managing change, and role modelling behaviours that align with our culture and values.

    Requirements
    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • Qualified CA (SA) with a passion for data & tech. 
    • Experience in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
    • Proven experience (5 years) in a leadership role overseeing systems, data management, and technology functions, preferably in Telecommunication, Tech or Data Science.
    • Experience with cybersecurity, risk management, compliance standards.  

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE / TECHNICAL SKILLS: 

    Financial Management:

    • Oversee the budgeting process.
    • Oversight of financial planning and forecasting.
    • Understanding of Investment and growth strategies for scenario planning.

    Systems and Data:

    • Strong knowledge of data governance principles, data modeling, AI processes, and data analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Python, Tableau, etc.).
    • Deep understanding of enterprise systems, cloud technologies, data architecture, commercial models and finance.

    Project Management and Execution:

    • Proficiency in project management methodologies, tools, and techniques to plan, execute, and monitor technology projects, ensuring successful delivery and stakeholder satisfaction.

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex technical challenges, troubleshoot issues, and make data-driven decisions.
    • Ability to prioritise tasks, manage multiple projects, and deliver results within budget and timeline constraints.

    Continuous Learning:

    • Commitment to staying updated with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in systems, data management, and technology innovation.

    Adaptability

    • Adaptability to evolving business needs, market dynamics, and technological advancements, driving agility and resilience within the organisation.
