Tax Specialist at The South African Breweries (SAB)

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Preparation of computations/determinations of Corporate Income Taxes, VAT, WHT, TP, and Excise for entities in Africa Zone.
• Preparation of monthly VAT and Excise returns for entities in Africa Zone.
• Preparation of provisional and annual Corporate Income Tax returns for entities in Africa Zone.
• Preparation of ad hoc Withholding taxes returns and Transfer Pricing documentation (such Pillar II reporting) for entities in Africa Zone.
• Preparation of monthly tax reporting for Global consolidation for entities in Africa Zone. This includes tax rate reconciliations, deferred tax schedules and cash tax payments.
• Performance of analytics on data related to all tax types applicable to entities in Africa Zone.
• Implementation of automation of activities across the different tax types.
• Implementation of standardization of reporting across different entities in Africa Zone.
• Implementation of any improvements that would be beneficial to different tax stakeholders.
• Any ad hoc requests that may arise from time to time.
• Month end close (MEC) WD5 and 7 deliverables

• In-country team MEC deliverable (P/L close) – excise computation & tax JV (MEC WD1)
• In-country team MEC deliverable (P/L close) – VAT computation & tax JV (MEC WD1)
• Preparation for filing monthly (legal requirement)
• Preparation for filing monthly (legal requirement)
• MEC WD1 deliverable
• Excise return preparation & submission – tax compliance
• VAT return preparation & submission – tax compliance
• Intercompany/transfer pricing management – monthly requirements
• Intercompany/transfer pricing management – bi-annual requirements
• Global transfer pricing reporting compliance
• US Tax compliance

Minimum Requirements:

• Taxation law​ (Intermediate)
• Tax accounting (Intermediate)
• Financial/General Accounting
• Excel Knowledge (Intermediate)
• Systems experience: One source, SAP, Syspro and eFiling
