    PPM Lead (Finance Lead)

    Key outputs and responsibilities:

    Annual Plan/Budget

    • Adhere to all deadlines, milestones and submission requirements to the Zone Supply PPM team ​
    • Review all budget calculations for OPC’s/BOMs and own the end to end process ​
    • Lead the ZBB budget process for the plant and ensure all guidelines, templates and timelines are adhered to ​
    • Support on the completion of the CAPEX budget as required​
    • Lead the headcount and paycost planning process for the plant​
    • Ensure all champions initiatives are properly embedded in the budget while avoiding double counting​
    • Prepare management review presentations for Zone, respecting guidelines, templates and timelines ​
    • Ensure final budget is properly uploaded in all relevant tools (COGNOS, SCFD, SAP, TM1)​
    • Provide correct bottom up VIC standards and actuals for MACO reporting​

    Monthly Process (reporting/analysis/review/LE)

    • Responsible for the preparation of a full year forecast outlook (LE) for the plant ​
    • Identify opportunities to continuously improve results​
    • Identify risks, respective route causes and identify gap closing action plans ​
    • Consolidate and report LE on a monthly basis to the Zone Supply PPM team​
    • Review of new PCE’s/BOMs on a monthly basis as and when required​
    • Review of the plant P&L and validation that the results reported are accurate and there is no material misstatement ​
    • Review of headcount & paycost reporting on a monthly basis​
    • Leads the completion and presentation of the monthly plant T&M deck with the Plant Manager​
    • Monitors coherence between Budget, CAPEX and ZBB Performance of the Plant​
    • Responsible for monthly and year end closing activities in supply (esp.. validation of accruals)​
    • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial results in line with approved policies & procedures​
    • Manage Relationship with Network of Capability Centre (NoCC) for outsourced activities​
    • Tracks performance targets for the Plant Operations to reach World Class Excellence Operational efficiency. (e.g. DBCM calculation, by product income tracking, packaging & malting loss etc.)​
    • Assess Operational efficiency Supply, identify initiatives and lead actions plan to optimize the Supply performance and to close the gaps towards 3YP, Budget, LE, Global Benchmarking.​
    • Executes Management Reporting for the plant to enable best-in-class operational performance management ​

    Ad Hoc

    • Define recommendations to support Senior Management decisions.​

    Key Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Develop trade marketing strategy and plans

    VPO Manager - VOPS Alrode

    Key roles and responsibilities:

    • Ensure compliance with Safety standards and guidelines and drive a safety culture to ensure safety in the work environment.

    Junior Brewer - Ibhayi Brewery

    Key Roles and Responsibilities:

    • The core role of the Junior Brewer should encompass strong support towards the SDCA activities within the brewing department.
    • The role is intended to fulfil the development activities post the traineeship which encompasses support of brewing routines, acting roles within the brewing department, completion of KPI value adding project work and to obtain experiential learning within the brewing department.
    • The role follows from a formal full-time traineeship or parallel traineeship.
    • Through zone interaction, the BAM & BTE coach the Junior Brewers through their development.
    • During the employment as a Junior Brewer, the development will include a validation of progress and performance by a panel consisting of Brewing L&D Coordinator, Zone B&Q Leadership and representative Brewing Manager/s. This should be managed through the brewery, ZBQ and L&D.

    Owns the plan for personal development based on experiential learning

    The Junior Brewer must own the plan for his/her development with specific reference to:

    • Acting roles with agreed learning outcomes by the employee, the direct line manager, Zone coordinators and Zone L&D specialists.
    • Selection and planning (with zone and line manager approval) of a Key KPI improvement project, and/or appropriate Implementation Project.
    • Fully integrates into the brewing department/ respective acting departments throughout employment as a Junior Brewer, with full exposure to leadership levels within the department.

    Supporting the SDCA cycle in the Brewing Department & Shopfloor support

    • The Junior Brewer should form the first line of support to the shift teams in the problem-Solving Relay, prior to the BAM review.
    • This element of problem-solving involvement should encompass finding root causes where prior reviews could not, escalate as required, as well as provide the required support and coaching on problem solving Involvement in the loop closure of root causes is also required.
    • The Junior Brewer supports ATO at the Operator Level, and stays compliant to the ATO plan developed in conjunction with the Brewery Leadership team in accordance to the VPO Maintenance Pillar.
    • The Junior Brewer must also take on the completion of relevant OWDs in support of the BAM and drive the continuous improvement activities reached through OWDs.
    • The Junior Brewer is also required to provide admin and reporting support to the BAM.
    • The Junior Brewer is required to support the utilisation of GOPs within the brewing department and assist in the tracking of activities driving GOP compliance and improvements.
    • The Junior Brewer is required to partake in sensory routines, as well as support tracebacks and traceability exercises required for problem solving and continuous improvements.
    • Where required and requested to do so, the Junior Brewer is also required to support financial visibility and management against BOM’s.

    Acting Roles

    • The Junior Brewer is required to act in positions to gain experiential training in leading teams and applying VPO tools in order to deliver on key Departmental priorities
    • All acting roles need to be preceded with a signed off learning plan with the BTE and Zone, and accompanied by feedback on monthly check ins with the Plant Manager, Brewing Manager, Brewing Technical Expert and Zone L&D and ZBQ coordinators

    Validation of Progress and Performance of the Junior Brewer

    • Prior to admittance to the Junior Brewer Role, the 18-months traineeship pathway must have been completed with the technical checkout completed as part of this time frame
    • This is a mandated requirement for entry into the role.2. During the time spent as a Junior Brewer, a second checkout is required with the Brewing Manager, Zone L&D and ZBQ Coordinators and Zone Brewing Manager (and additional resources as required by the Zone Brewing Manager)
    • This checkout will take the form of a presentation to the Panel, accompanied by a question-and-answer session
    • This second checkout must be completed on the basis of success related to acting roles and experiential learning, KPI improvement project work and VPO practice-based feedback during the role as well as support shown to the SDCA activities of the brewing department. This assessment is guided through the L&D department to ensure consistency

    Minimum Requirements

    • B.Sc. Degree or equivalent in Biological Sciences, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering

    Machine Specialist

    Key roles and responsibilities:

    Operational Support

    • Provide specialist support to the shift-based teams during operations​
    • Assist as functional expert in problem solving. This must be undertaken in support of the Process Artisan​
    • Where requested, Provide guidance and advice to the shift-based teams on mechanical equipment, mechanical fault-finding and correct responses to mechanical failure mode​

    Planned Maintenance

    • Take part in maintenance planning meeting, contributing suggestions and clarifying work required​
    • Carry out work during the planned maintenance window in accordance with the planned maintenance schedule issued by the planner​

    Running Repairs

    • On request, partake in carrying out running repairs on plant and equipment, or support the Shift Artisans in carrying out repairs​
    • When carrying out repairs, assess the problem and determine a course of action​
    • Complete the administration tasks relating to any running repairs that the Technician has carried out as per SAP requirements​

    Problem Solving

    • Where problems have occurred during routine activities, apply the correct problem-solving approach to resolve​
    • Where required, call in additional resources to assist in problem solving or escalate to the Engineering Controller for direction​
    • Assist fellow team members to resolve problems on request Take part in FFA's on request​​

    Improvement

    • Create or Improve SWI's, SOP's and maintenance tasks on an ongoing basis as issues arise to ensure that the loop is closed out to prevent issues arising​​​

    Housekeeping and Safety

    • Always operate in a safe manner, identify and highlight unsafe work practices so that these may be corrected​

    Minimum Requirements:

    Education:

    • BSc Degree in Biological Sciences, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
    • Completed brewing traineeship.
    • IBD Papers 1,2&3 completed and passed.

    Experience:

    • At least 2 years production experience, of which 1 years’ operating at a management level within Brewing.
    • Demonstrated experience in driving commercial decisions in a brewery (financial, operational, people) and brewing technical expertise.
    • A good performance track record indicating a disciplined work ethic with passion at maintaining quality.

    Advantageous:

    • Master Brewer IBD qualification obtained - Studying towards MB Qualification.
    • Additional business qualification.
    • SAP modules: White belt certification would be highly advantageous.
