    Team Leader NAV Pooled

    Specific duties/Key Outputs and Responsibilities:

    Team Management

    • Generally motivate people to give their best results, praising them when things go well and appraising them on improvements which can and should be made.
    • Mentor, counsel, coach and generally support those who are not confident in their area of competence, building morale and personal esteem and generally encouraging others to give their best performance.
    • Encourage others to communicate effectively and efficiently at a level that is understood by all thus developing a culture of participation and involvement.
    • Meet people with ease and motivate them to seek opportunities and achieve high standards.
    • Manage individual team members’ performance and be able to objectively raise any concerns impacting the team.
    • Be alert to changing situations, show flexibility in approach, adaptability in difficult circumstances and continuously strive to achieve a result.

     Key BAU Deliverables and Competencies

    • Managing and monitoring daily BAU deliverables and the effective re-allocation of resources when necessary.
    • Continually assessing the risks within the team, suggesting and implementing procedures to mitigate these risks.
    • Ensuring that SOP’s and Checklists are up to date.
    • Achieving deliverables against agreed SLA deadlines and managing expectations of clients, escalating when appropriate.
    • Manage BAU KPI’s.
    • Manage the performance management system.
    • Ensure that the team is cross skilled and the skills matrix is up to date.
    • Show a strong focus on the internal control environment, which includes complying with client and market requirements, policies and procedures.
    • Providing input on a regular basis into the updating of process documentation changes required as a result of changes in market information or procedures.
    • Ensure that incidents are logged timeously and accurately.
    • Ensure that processes are performed properly and documented accurately.
    • Ensure that processes are decommissioned after due diligence has been exercised.
    • Create a culture of continuous improvement.
    • Support internal and external Audit requirements where necessary.

    Requirements

    Skills Required:

    • Leadership Skills
    • Sound knowledge of Operations and Financial Markets.
    • 3-5 years experience in NAV environment
    • High attention to detail
    • Good numerical skills
    • Ability to work independently, and as a team player.
    • Ability to use initiative, take ownership and to question from base principles.
    • Ability to work under pressure.
    • Clear communicator (verbal & written).
    • Driven and self-motivated.
    • Strong problem solving skills.
    • Control oriented and risk aware.
