Team Leader - Plastic/Packaging Manufacturing (68607) at Ntice Sourcing Solutions

Job Description

• An industry leader in the packaging/manufacturing sector is seeking a qualified Team Leader based in the Pinetown area.

Tasks & responsibilities:

• Assisting with the day-to-day leadership of the team
• Maintaining efficiencies of 85% or higher
• Ensure the product quality meets and beats expectations
• Ensuring accurate completion of production tally sheets
• Monitoring raw material usage
• Monitoring machine and moulds performance
• Coordinating all on hold products
• Ensuring packing and labelling is efficiently and correctly packed
• Ensuring correct paperwork is displayed at machines and completed correctly
• Liaising with quality inspectors continuously to ensure product standards are correct
• Allocating staff to relevant machine(s) as needed per staffing schedule
• Assisting staff at machines as needed
• Ensuring that adherence to all safety standards is followed
• Ensuring housekeeping is above 90% for the factory and packing areas
• Assisting with Maintenance and Mould changes as required
• Process Optimization and recipe creation for new products
• Ensure all systems and procedures are implemented and maintained.
• Ensuring all moulds are serviced as per annual service schedule
• Ensure all mould consumables are available, and neatly stored with a weekly stock take
• Manage machine critical spares and ensure list is up to date
• Ensure completion of all machine maintenance and ensure relevant checks are completed
• Involved in weekly Production Meeting

Qualifications, Experience & Competencies:

• Matric
• N3 or NQF5 (related technical field)
• At least 3 years' experience as a Shift Setter in Production
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Team management experience
• Blow moulding and injection moulding experience advantageous
• Have a strong ability to communicate with all levels and across departments
• Strong technical/mechanical knowledge
• Computer literacy is advantageous
