    Team Leader Stores - Engineering Stores

    Job Description    

    • Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) has an exciting opportunity in the Manufacturing Department. We are looking for a talented individual with relevant skills and experience as Team Leader: Stores based in Elgin. Key Purpose: To lead and support the stores team and to manage and control inventory (raw materials and spares) so that customers receive the right quantity and quality raw materials/spares at the right time.

    Key Duties & Responsibilities    
    Engineering Stores Operations

    • Manage daily operations of the Engineering Stores to support scheduled maintenance and breakdown response.
    • Ensure all engineering materials are issued, received, stored, and recorded according to procedures and safety regulations.
    • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized store layout in line with 5S and SHEQ standards.

    Inventory and Stock Management

    • Ensure adequate stock levels of critical spares and consumables based on usage trends and engineering plans.
    • Collaborate with Head Office Engineering Spares Specialists to maintain correct master data, reorder levels, and codification.
    • Manage cycle counts, stock takes, and variance investigations.

    Compliance and Risk Management

    • Enforce SHEQ protocols, including safe storage and handling of chemicals, flammable materials, and lifting equipment.
    • Ensure stores are audit-ready at all times and participate in internal and external compliance audits.
    • Monitor shelf life of time-sensitive items and coordinate disposal of obsolete or redundant stock.

    System and Data Management

    • Ensure 100% accuracy of transactions in WMS , including goods receipt (GRN), goods issue, returns, and bin location updates.
    • Maintain alignment with master data governance set by Head Office.
    • Ensure timely closure of work orders and materials reconciliation in support of engineering activities.

    People Leadership and Performance

    • Lead, coach, and manage the performance of direc reports
    • Conduct regular reviews, task delegation, skills development, and cross-training initiatives.
    • Drive a high-performance and compliance-driven culture.

    Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration

    • Liaise with Maintenance Planners, Buyers, and Technicians to understand upcoming work and material requirements.
    • Collaborate with Procurement and Head Office Inventory Specialists to resolve material master data, vendor issues, and supply delays.
    • Support Continuous Improvement and Cost-Saving initiatives related to engineering inventory.

    Skills, Experience & Education    
    Education

    • National Diploma or NQF Level 6 in: Logistics/Supply Chain Management, Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical), Operations or Warehouse Management
    • SAP MM Certification or formal training (advantageous)
    • Stores or Inventory Management certification (preferred)

    Experience

    • Minimum 3–5 years in an engineering or technical stores environment in FMCG or industrial manufacturing.
    • At least 2 years of supervisory experience
    • Proven experience in transaction processing and inventory reconciliation
    • Exposure to engineering or maintenance support environments

    Skills

    • Strong knowledge of engineering components, spares, and consumables
    • Proficient in Materials Management and stock control processes
    • Understanding of preventative and breakdown maintenance workflows
    • Inventory data analysis and problem-solving ability
    • Solid SHEQ understanding in relation to stores safety and materials handling
    • Team leadership and coaching ability
    • Strong communication and coordination skills across technical and procurement teams
    • Attention to detail and process discipline
    • Familiarity with Lean/CI tools and 5S practices
