Technical Assistant

Requirements
- Grade 12
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a roads and storm water maintenance, construction environment or related field
- Computer Literacy in Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be able and willing to work outside normal working hours in all weather conditions
- A valid code B driver’s license
Key Performance Areas
- Carry out inspections relating to or impacting on the provision of Roads and Storm water Infrastructure
- Engaging with external stakeholders
- Assist in coordinating roads infrastructure maintenance activities
- Assisting in wayleave, and carriageway crossing applications and compiling work permits
- Filing relevant documents for easy retrieval
- Maintain the standards in the technical library
- Ensure Contractors comply with legislation and policy
- Record keeping and compiling reports onsite inspection outcomes
- Compiling cost estimates
- Compile snag list of projects when they are completed (for as built purposes)
- Providing technical and administrative support to the relevant role players within the department
