    Technical Broker Support Manager

    Job Purpose

    • To provide specialist technical support within the broker channel, with primary accountability for the management, oversight, and ongoing optimisation of the Asset All Risks (AAR) Programme.
    • The role is responsible for effective insurer stakeholder management, technical governance, and ensuring that AAR solutions remain appropriate, sustainable, and aligned to business and client needs.

    Job Responsibilities

    Asset All Risks (AAR) Programme Oversight:

    • Provide end-to-end technical oversight of the Asset All Risks Programme.
    • Ensure cover structures, limits, deductibles, extensions, and exclusions are appropriate and market-aligned.
    • Maintain and review AAR policy wordings to ensure accuracy, relevance, and compliance.
    • Provide technical input into new business, renewals, and mid-term adjustments.
    • Monitor programme performance, including claims experience and loss ratios, and identify improvement opportunities.

    Insurer Stakeholder Management:

    • Serve as the primary technical liaison between the broker channel and participating insurers.
    • Build and maintain effective working relationships with insurer underwriting, claims, and technical teams.
    • Facilitate and participate in insurer engagement forums, including operational and performance reviews.
    • Support negotiations relating to terms, conditions, pricing, and capacity where required.
    • Manage and resolve technical or service-related escalations in collaboration with insurers

    Support bespoke products and services:

    • Product design, development, and implementation
    • Product upgrade, design, and implementation – relates to existing bespoke products and services

    Technical Support to Brokers and Internal Stakeholder:

    • Provide expert technical guidance on complex AAR risks, structures, and placements.
    • Support brokers with technically complex renewals, new business, and bespoke risk solutions.
    • Contribute technical input to client and insurer presentations.
    • Act as an escalation point for complex AAR-related technical matters.

    Contract management: 

    • Management and administration of supplier contracts in accordance with the NI contract management and vendor matrix process (intermediary agreement, outsourced agreements, binder agreements and referral agreements).

    Systems Assistance with systems upgrade design and specification drafts:

    • Process design, development, and implementation Where required
    • Review and upgrades to existing process’
    • Review of policy wording updating / amendments
    • Design, development, training, and implementation of new process’

    Job Responsibilities Continue

    Training:

    • When called upon by the NI training department to assist
    • Assist with the sourcing of product (technical) training
    • Design and development of product training material in terms of bespoke products 
    • Presentation of training

    Claims:

    • Assistance with claims
    • Review of cover vs loss / damage event
    • Negotiate liability acceptance with insurers together with fair settlements all in terms of the policy

    Management information

    • Review and interpret insurance management information
    • Design and implement reports when required
    • Contribute to a culture of transformation by participating in Nedbank culture building initiatives, business strategy, and CSI.
    • Stay abreast of developments in field of expertise, ensuring personal and professional growth.

    Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

    • Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees

    Preferred Qualification

    • AIISA / FIISA and or
    • B Degree
    • FAIS representative (RE 5)
    • FAIS key individual (RE 1) (advantageous) 

    Essential Certifications

    • FAIS representative and preferably a Key Individual

    Minimum Experience Level

    • Minimum 8 years’ experience with at least 6 years in commercial / corporate segments in the insurance industry  (Technical Broker Support expertise)
    • Experience in intermediary industry min 3 year
